D.J. Giovanni is a New York / New Jersey / Miami master mixer that started blending music at  12 years old.

Growing up in NYC and Paterson New Jersey, he had the opportunity to participate in a broad variety of venues and expand his knowledge of “crowd motivation” and “floor control” through proper music selection.

At the age of 16 Giovanni started his career as a night club D.J. and hasn’t stopped since. At the age of 18 while studying at CMA (Center for the Media Arts) in NYC he acquired an internship with Bill Rickett of Ricketts Record Pool in New Jersey. Giovanni worked day and night to learn as much as possible about how the Industry worked and what exactly was the purpose behind a record pool, how to maximize its influence in the streets and in the clubs as well as how to best serve the record companies that supported the pools.

Giovanni worked with Bill Rickett from 1985 to 1996. Within those years he earned the position of Co-Director to the record pool and was recognized by his peers as an up and coming talent. It was at that point that the late John Matarazzo (RIP) approached Giovanni and asked if he would be interested in being the opening DJ at the Thursday night extravaganza parties being held at the legendary Charlie’s West Night Club in East Orange New Jersey.

John Matarazzo was one of 3 Billboard reporting disc jockeys in the entire State of New Jersey, this was an opportunity of a lifetime and it was to be taken immediately and without hesitation.

Shortly after Giovanni was approached by different magazines to start writing reviews of his own, the famous SIN (Street Information Network) Network and Club NY/NJ dance Magazine along with assisting Mr. Matarazzo with his own reviews helped record companies identify key talents within Giovanni. Cutting Records, Tommy Boy Records, Mic Mac Records, Fever Records and Salsoul Records were quick to ask for feedback and appreciate the honesty being provided not only by Gio but the entire record pool under his leadership.

In 1996 Giovanni relocated to the Great State of Florida and helped bring about the “House” movement of the late 90’s and early 2000’s in South Beach and to date still being enjoyed throughout South Florida.

Giovanni was picked up by Fat Tuesday on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach in 1996, the party went crazy and lasted till 2001 when SBS (Spanish Broadcasting Stations) and different nightclubs in the Broward County (Fort Lauderdale) area asked Giovanni to move the scene north but with a Latin fusion, House Music manner.

Once again Giovanni quickly obliged, and Broward County went BANANAS.

Giovanni has been fortunate to have performed throughout Asia, South America, The Caribbean and the United States in clubs, radio stations and open venues that have drawn sizable crowds.

Giovanni has worked alongside artist such as, Grupo Niche, Orquesta Guayacan, Daddy Yankee, Wisin Y Yandel, Hector Acosta, Carlos Vives, Robin S, Victor Rodriguez (Baby J), Aldo Marin, Jellybean Benitez, Timmy Regisford, Tee Scott, David Morales & Louie Vega to name a few.

Giovanni has also collaborated & mixed for Spanish Broadcasting Stations (El Zol) Miami & Univision Radio (98.3) Miami as well as WBLS 107.5 NYC and Hot 97 NYC.

Giovanni’s knowledge of music is a huge plus due to the fact that he’s able to entertain guests of all ages, maintaining the dance floor seamlessly flowing and moving throughout the event.

Giovanni has an upbeat, positive attitude that resonates through his music, he believes that music should be shared, enjoyed and danced to.

Love all, hurt no one and always thank our creator for each and every day.

God bless.
